W.U.K.F GB OPEN, K2 Crawley

WUKF British Open Success :
What an incredible weekend for the WBK fighters at the WUKF British Open Championships in Crawley.
Day 1
Our juniors set the tone early, with Alby and Lucas showing great skill and determination, both narrowly missing out in the early rounds but fought extremely well. Harri was outstanding throughout his category, fighting smart, staying in control, and progressing through multiple rounds before just missing out on a Bronze medal in the quarter finals. The boys also competed in the 11-12 Years Male Team Rotation, delivering some excellent bouts and again coming heartbreakingly close to a podium finish. Although no medals, you should be proud of your performances at such a high level!
Day 2
Our seniors stepped up, led by Ruby, our most experienced fighter, who truly showcased her class. Fighting with flair, composure, and resilience (even battling through black eyes and a broken nose). Ruby pushed all the way to a superb final against a highly skilled Polish opponent, securing a well-deserved Silver medal in an event featured on the WUKF European Tour. She later competed in the U21 Ladies, progressing strongly and just missing out on Bronze.
In the U18 Men’s category, Sam kicked things off in style with a dominant performance before narrowly losing in a tough contest against a Karate England fighter. Tom M followed with a composed and tactical fight, finishing 3-3 but unfortunately losing on first to score. Tom W showed relentless pressure and determination against an experienced opponent but didn’t progress this time. Dan P rounded off the individual bouts, showing great intent with sharp body kicks, unlucky not to score against another strong Karate England competitor.
The weekend finished on a high with the U18 Rotation Team with Tom M, Sam, and Tom W as the team and stepping up brilliantly. Their teamwork and performances earned them a fantastic Bronze medal.
